The Last Post:TAPS

Trumpet players are often contacted to perform TAPS. TAPS is performed as part of the military honors for the fallen hero’s and hero’s who served during times of war. If you are contacted to perform TAPS you might want to guide the bereaved to the site BUGLES ACROSS AMERICA. TAPS should be paid for through the military but more and more they send out a “Commemorative Bugler” who holds a fake trumpet while a recording is projected from the instrument, not a true bugler. I am often contacted by the bereaved who would like the honor of a real bugler, not the imitation bugler. At the military cemetery in here in San Antonio at Fort Sam, they at one time had a full time bugler who would come out on the days there were funerals and perform the honors.
